A lengthy time away allowed time to delve into this fabulous autobiography by Walter Isaacson, at last. The original cover published by Simon and Schuster delivers so much - what autobiography doesn't use an image of the subject - but I was struck by one of the idee fixe of the book as an alternative. Time and again Isaacson brings up Jobs' obsession with making the inside of products as perfect as the outside. Could this be applied to the cover? Isn't it after all Jobs' brain that was the masterpiece? This new cover echoes the helvetica font used in the original - it feels like nothing else would be as appropriate.
